Today was the first day of my attachment at Dunman High School.
Pretty good experience.
The five of us (all girls) who are attached to DHS sort of clicked very well quite fast.. probably cos we are all from NUS FASS..
In the morning when i took 30 to DHS, Peixuan actually boarded my bus.. so we went to school together... Since she was an ex-student she met up with many teachers who still recognize her as we toured around the school... And also we were glad to have her with us to bring us around the place as the rest of us were quite lost in this school.. AND so coincidental (again!).. the other geography major (out of the 5 of us), Jilyn, was one of the students from the field studies module (this year's batch).. So we had a nice chat about her trip to Malaysia.. looking forward to seeing all her photos when she brings her laptop tomorrow!
As regards to work.. i can say its quite challenging.. My teacher-mentor, Mrs Tan Bee Kee, is a history teacher.. so naturally the work im given are history stuff.. "United Nations Organisation - How was it formed? What is its structure? What is its functions? What are its strengths and weaknesses?" ... Difficult hor.. i never study this before lor.. So i have to read up alot.. Then i have to take over some lessons on this topic.. Which means coming up with lesson plans, powerpoint slides, and worksheets... and i still need to make an online video lesson which is something like a lecture webcast but shorter.. basically for students to watch at home for revision or if they miss lesson in school.. Then after i try out this video lesson on the students i still need to do survey to evaluate it.. and prepare a report for the school and perhaps even do a presentation about the evaluation... SO that sounds like a whole lot of work right.. yah i think it really is a lot.. BUT in addition i was still given a pile of essays to mark - "Discuss the positive and negative impacts of globalisation".. luckily is something im familiar with la.. But 30+ essays leh.. and i have to get it done by wednesday's lesson.. in which i still gotta give comments and feedback about the essays to the class..
Im starting to feel the pressure of the workload.. i better start cracking now. Haha.
