MY BRAIN IS SO CRAMMED WITH INFORMATION.

For the past 4 days at least.. i have been studying non-stop for my Social Work test on tuesday... its nearly 400 pages of words in font size 10 and minimal pictures.. plus some notes and many course videos which i doubt i'll have a the time to watch...
Its really irritaing cos this is my favourite module and the things i study about are very interesting.. however due to the lack of time, i have to resort to memorising of the more examinable theories than think about of the more interesting facts... But somehow i still think im gonna score badly in this test.. haiz.

So for the past few days the only break i had from studying was attending NTU Chinese Orchestra's concert at the Singapore Conference Hall. I went with iuan xuan to give dear sheya our support! haha..
Probably not many pple koe that i love chinese music... anyway, my favourite is the gu zhen, followed by the suo na..
I like the sound gu zhen the best when its playing slow, emotional pieces.. as the type of sound it produces seem to express feelings very well.. especially sadness.
Whereas the suo na.. famous for its super loud and piercing sound.. it is often the hightlight of exciting, fast-paced pieces.. expressing happiness or 'grand-ness'...
(of cos the suo na is also famous for its appearance in funeral processions..hmm..which is quite contrary to its role in the performing arts.)
And the drums.. which i seem to gain liking for after this concert.. cos i was so fasinated by the elaborate hand movements.. and also partly cos the lead drummer was very cute...hahaa.

Yesterday i was at Phuture/Zouk with sheya, iuan xuan and yingying... It was a night of being a sardine.. wednesday the place is soooo packed... cos its Ladies' Night.. but i think i still saw more guys than girls.. Anyway im utterly amazed by how people can continuously squeeze in throughout the night when i already thought that there was absolutely no more space by the time it was midnight... The music at Phuture was good... Its a pity each of us had only less than 50cm by 50cm standing space.. It takes a lot of skill to 'dance' in this kinda limited space you know.. haha..

Today is YUAN XIAO JIE. Supposedly the last day of the 15-day Chinese New Year period... and also the so-called chinese vday.. Oh wells... i dun think anyone celebrates this.

Anyway i've finally completed my essay for Teaching Award application. Its basically a 'hao lian' essay to sell myself as a potentially good teacher 'to mould the future of our nation'. So far only sheya and iuan xuan read my essay and kindly edited my grammar mistakes.. hehe.. Anyone who wanna read can ask from me.. haha.. provided you wan puke. =p
My new year wish is that i can get this award.. cos after careful calculations, i realised i can save about 30000 dollars on tuition fees and other miscellaneous expenses.
WAAAHHHHH.
the government really has so much money....

VALENTINE'S DAY

I had such a wonderful time today!!!
I got a bouquet of flowers afterall.. wahaha.. but 12 stalks at the price of 6 stalks... song boh!
of cos la... after 14th feb pass liao.. all flowers at slashed prices.. heheee
We went to Fisherman's Village at Pasir Ris Park... its a really romantic place.. We had dinner at this restaurant right beside the beach.. beside the sand, the sea, and the coconut trees... ain't it beautiful?? .. And the food is not bad.. i ate Ostrich steak...tastes heavenly.. the 'juice' is so much sweeter than beef steak... And the price is reasonable too... 2 main courses plus desserts add up to about 50+... considering the gorgeous scenery and cooling breeze that accompanied our meal.. its SO DAMN WORTH IT. =)
(thankew Hongyi for telling me about the place)

Talk about vday presents... heheh.. i gave weiliat a Adidas jersey, while he gave me..... *drumrolls*.... a pair of heart-shaped diamond ear-rings from a Lee Hwa!! 13 very small diamonds on each one.. so that makes 26 diamonds in all... so pretty!!!

I AM SO HAPPY NOW THAT I CAN FLY TO THE MOON.

Hello everybody who reads my blog!!!
whoever you are.. cos i cant keep track of who liao.. at first i always thot only got that pathetic few pple read my blog.. but sometimes out of the blue i meet a not-so-close friend and realise they know so much abt me.. "oh i read from your blog!" haha... when that happens i will be quite stunned.

SO... it has been project deadlines and tests this week... My Chinese New Year was rather miserable with my angbao$ record hitting all time low... cos i was sick on chu er... Plus my precious Valentine's Day was spent having lessons from 10am to 6pm and a stressful project discussion that nearly lead to a quarrel... haiz.. Despite me rushing from place to place, i still noticed all the bouquets everywhere.. the biggest being a bouquet of 12 tulips followed by a bouquet of 10 red roses...and my personal favourite was a bouquet of white lilies.. Say not jealous is tok rubbish la.. but i already told my bf not to buy liao cos waste money la... so ITS OKIE.

Let me tell you all about my test for my 'Cities in Transition' module... The lecturer very scheming... Make us study everything and refuse to tell us wads the format of the test.. "Its a secret" he said... His secret turns out to be a surprise. The test questions are to write questions. You get wad i mean? It means... we are suppose to come up with questions.. he provide us with the topics and we come up with the questions!!! sheessshhh.... eh.. not easy lor.. you must know the topic very well before you can set a question that covers the whole topic.... Anyway i think the lecturer very lazy lor... Like that he can spend lesser time marking (essays harder to mark), and also save on setting questions for our final exam! .. yea.. "Those good questions you pple set will appear in the final exam."

anyway.. TOMORROW IS MY VALENTINE'S DAY.
Me and my bf postponed vday celebrations to tmr... due to my tests which ended today.
hmmm.... looking forward to it... haha. =)

Discovery of the day : Teachers have such brilliant memory.. not just in terms of remmebering facts and knowledge.. but also at remembering faces and names!

Yesterday i went back to TKGS with Crystal and SzWha to visit our teachers... Firstly we saw our favourite teacher Mdm Adela Chee (HCL teacher from sec2 to 4)..actually how she came to be our favourite teacher remains a wonder... cos she is very fierce and often punish pple de... HAhaa.. but we just like her.. maybe cos she very passionate abt teaching bah..
Next we saw many other teachers we were not so close too... i bet a couple of them didnt recognise us but we very polite and told us we look familiar.. haha... BUT then we met Mrs Hoe.. all i remember was her teaching us english lit in sec1&2.. and i hated literature so i was always passive in class.. all i remember abt her is she was pregnant at that time and she told us she could use her huge belly to support her book while sitting down.. that time i thot it was really funny.. haha.. And she would always make sure the fan faces her cos she say pregnant women always feel hot... SO thats all i rem abt her and i almost didnt expect her to rem me... BUT THEN the moment she saw me she called my name!! and then crystal and szwha as well!! She could rem us instantly man... amazing lor.. She could even recall which class we from and some of the things we did... Im so impressed.
Next we saw Miss Chan... who is me and crystal's sec1 form teacher...(sec1 only leh!!) .. yeah and she rem my full name and rem tat i live very near TKGS..
Another one Mdm Seah... sec1&2 geography teacher.. she even rem that i had long hair and tied up in 2 pigtails.. wahaha..
So fun... and so heart-warming.. to see that all these teachers actually rem us .. hehee.

Btw
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!!! =)

RP : research participation
its something that all students who take the intro module to psy & stats1 have to participate in.. basically just be guinea pigs to those honours students doing their research...

I shall share my interesting experience...
I went for this experiment in which the experimenter needs to find out about my brain waves.. so she puts this cap over my head with a lot of holes and attach many electrodes at the holes... such that i look like an alien from dunno wad planet...Then she can see my brain waves on a screen.. BUT ALAS. Maybe im really an alien from some ulu planet... the computer registers no brain waves... but only a mesh of 'rubbish signals' as the experimenter puts it.. shheeeeesssshhh... She didnt give me an explanation why and made me keep on wondering if my brain has something wrong.
Today i went for another RP which also needs to carry out the same procedures.... i was so scared that there'll be no brain waves again lo!! .. but heng ah.. got.. hahaha..
Relieved man... then guess wad?
When i was prepared to go off... i saw that previous experimenter..
me: "hey today can see the brain waves leh!"
her: " ohh... good lo... i thought you brain dead already.. wahaha."

Yet another busy week.. haiz.. i shall not rumble about how much work i have...

Yesterday i had steamboat dinner with a big bunch of weiliat's friends.... The proportion of people at the table is 1 TKGian:10 Dumanians , and 2 girls:9 guys.. and i barely know them except for 2 or 3 people, although half of them are from VJC... oh wells... i just kept quiet and keep on eating.. the food was not bad la... And the topic they keep toking about is obviously NS. But at least there's one girl and one Malaysian guy who were in the same boat with me - completely lost and bored to death... (haha.. nearly la).

So today is stay-at-home-mug day... later still going out to meet project mates. wad a lousy Sunday.
