I fell sick after being back in Singapore for only 2 days.
And i didnt fall sick even once in Malaysia.
What does this apply???
Jolin says its shui2 tu3 bu4 fu2... which means im not used to the living conditions in Singapore so i fell sick. HAHA. Have i turned into a Malaysian already?
Seriously, we are like still living in the world of Malaysia lo...
We walk around in shopping mall, see the price tags we naturally cut the number into half.. thinking that its quite cheap.. then realise we are not in Malaysia anymore! hahaa...
And today i nearly paid a ten ringgit note at the cashier... looks so similar lo!
The Great Singapore Sales certainly dun impress me anymore after my trip to Malaysia... 10%, 20% off.. whats the big deal? In Bukit Bintang, we saw sales that have discounts up to 80%, 90% off... Can you imagine how cheap is that?! And its all in RM!!! Ahhh.. i have to calm down... hai.
That day my mum bought me a packet of cai4 fan4 for lunch... costing $2.90 and only 3 dishes... nothing compared to the delicious "jing1 ji1 fan4" papa always buy for us... 4 dishes and only 2.80RM... oh how i miss it..
Today we met in school to hand up our reports... we were suppose to write about what we learnt about research work from this module... To me, actually we didnt learn alot la.. cos we played too much liao.. haha.. but other than research work there were a few lessons learnt which i think are important too.
Things i learnt from this module (more from the Malaysia leg)
1. how to cross the road without fear - the traffic in Msia is quite bad, we learnt from the Msians how to be brave and just cross!
2. how to bargain prices - Petaling St is a superb place to practise, 100Rm bargain to 30Rm, how to find such things in Sg?!
3. how to read some basic malay - like the signs that say berhenti (stop), tandas (toilet), selamat datang (welcome) etc...
4. how to eat a little more chili - cant be helped... cos almost everything there is spicy, if you ask for no chili they stare at you as if you are a weirdo
5. how to sleep with mosquitoes flying around you - loads of mosquitoes accompanied us in 2nd college, can even hear the buzzing sound....eeks
6. how to use sign language to communicate - when the msians dun understand our english, we have to resort to this...
Not bad huh... other than these.. one last important lesson is i learnt to appreciate Singapore much more... the high level of cleanliness, the low crime rate, the efficient public transport system... blah blah.. in KL you dun just walk across to change line orh, we even complain when we have to walk so 'far' to change to NEL, its much worse there.. you have to get off the train, get out of the station, walk out cross the road, walk somemore to another station and queue all over again to board the train... and there's no aircon passageway like those in Dhoby Ghaut and Outram.. DG even have the conveyor belt thing lo! So you see, how fortunate Singaporeans are. Lets be thankful.
