I was at MOE Podium Block, level 3, interview centre... the rain was so so heavy.. dark clouds filled the whole sky.. and i felt a sense of gloominess as i looked out of the glass panel while waiting for my turn.. Its the first interview i am going for in my whole life and i have this feeling that i will screw it up.

Met these 2 temp staffs at the reception.. they looked extremely bored.. well i understand their plight ( i was in their position a year ago when i worked in MOE)...so i went to chat with them and they told me who to expect in the interview room.. So i found out that the principal of TKGS, Mrs Loke-Yeo was inside (at my time she was the VP)...aka 'the not-as-good-as-the-previous principal' ..eh im not xian-ing here k... ask any TKGian and they will say that Mrs Kelvyna Chan (now ACJC principal) was better lo.. So anyway i didnt like her then, but i was going to meet her in a few minutes!! sheesshh..

Alright.. interviews are all about faking.. and a measure of how well you fake.
I was all-smiles when i went in.. sat down.. and maintained constant eye contact..
Mrs Loke-Yeo started it off by saying im her ex-student.. then jokingly said that she wun comment too much in case she is biased.. haha.. not very funny actually.. but she was laughing la. The guy in the centre was Jurong JC principal... who kept smiling at me until i felt uncomfortable... The last one was a MOE officer, manager of TSU (teaching scholarship unit)... whom i actually recognised and i think she recognised me too.. But other than smiling at the beginning, she keep a straight face through out the 15min interview.. SO the interview turned out to be like an interesting conversation between me and the ever-so-friendly JJC principal..
Questions they asked me:
How has giving tuition inspired you to be a teacher and how do you think the experience will help you in being a teacher in future?
Comment on any recent education policy. ( i talked abt the removal of PEARLS system)
Why didnt you take geography in secondary school and JC?
How would you deal with a class of Normal Academic students who are poor in their studies?
... and a couple of qns which i didnt anticipate...
Do you want to be a principal?
Do you know of a chinese motto of the MOE? (of cos i dunno la.. turns out to be something about a set of 5 basic values of teachers... 'wu da mei de'... )

Time passed real quickly... before i knew it my mouth was aching from too much smiling... i cant remember what i've spluttered now.. all i know is there must have been a lot of crap.. haha.. well i guess that JJC principal was rather convinced by me cos he was STILL smiling at me by the end of the interview while the other 2 already looked a little bored... haha.. so my fate lies with them bah.. Wish me luck. =)

Anyway.. the rain got even worse by the time my interview was over.. So i thought i should spend some time visiting my ex-colleagues at TTU (trainee teacher unit) while waiting for the rain to stop... But i had no idea how to get pass the security with no valid reason!! I thought of faking as temp staff.. but usually they come in at 8.30am and not at 11am.. so not convincing.. So i tried telling the security man i have an appointment with Siew Geok (my favourite superior).... But guess wad?! .. he dun believe sia.. he called up to confirm leh.. thankfully Siew Geok recognised my name and told the security to let her tok to me.. Hehee.. na jiu hao ban lo! .. the security man dun understand chinese! wahaha.. So of cos in no time i was upstairs chatting with Siew Geok, Molly, Nancy.. etc... And Jiwei specially came over and said hi to me!!! (sorry crystal i know u are jealous =p) .. He even asked me why i never bring my brownies to treat them.. hahaha.. And i saw the little 'plaque' which was a gift to the TTU staff from a few of the temp staff.. its hanging on the wall beside Molly's table!

MOE really brings back lotsa fond memories...some things have changed (eg sheryn is much thinner now!) while some things are still the same (eg siew geok is still so humourous) ....hahaha.. i wanna go back and work again ah! .. but no vacancies le... =(
Got like 7 temp staffs there now lor.. hope they all ji ti tiao cao!
